Crews will begin a 2-month-long construction project on Colorado 8 near Morrison next week.
A 2-mile stretch of the highway, from the south end of Morrison to the U.S. 285 junction, will be re-paved, and four bridge decks will be repaired, according to a news release from the Colorado Department of Transportation.
New guardrails, concrete curb ramps, sings and striping will also be installed.
On Aug. 1, the ramp bridge from southbound Colorado 8 to northbound U.S. 285, will be closed for repairs at 7:30 a.m.
The ramp will remain closed until 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 5.
Traffic will be re-routed onto southbound U.S. 285 to South Turkey Creek Road, and then onto North Turkey Creek Road, and west onto northbound U.S. 285.
Repairs on the ramp bridge from northbound U.S. 285 to northbound Colorado 8, will begin on Aug. 8 and continue through Aug. 12.
Traffic will be re-routed onto northbound U.S. 285, to northbound C-470 and onto southbound U.S. 285.
On Aug. 15, bridge repairs and paving will being on both northbound and southbound Colorado 8.
Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays.
Delays of up to 10 minutes should be expected and vehicles wider than 11 feet will not be allowed through the area during work hours.
Repairs on two bridges will continue through the second half of August, and paving on the highway will begin after Labor Day and continue through September.
The $941,000 project should be complete by Sept. 30.
