The Rapids will host either Isidro Metapán of El Salvador or the Puerto Rico Islanders in a CONCACAF Champions League game in Commerce City on Aug. 17, tournament organizers said Thursday.
Colorado, by virtue of winning the MLS Cup last season, earned a berth into Group B of the tournament of top clubs from North and Central America and the Caribbean.
The Rapids will host the winner of play-in series between Isidro Metapán or the Islanders. Isidro won 2-0 in the first of a home-and-home aggregate series on Wednesday. They play again next Wednesday.
Colorado then travels to play Real España of Honduras on Aug. 23.
The Rapids said tickets for the Aug. 17 game will go on sale Aug. 5.
