About 6,000 delegates will descend on Denver next month for the Global Business Travel Association’s convention.
The Aug. 21-24 meeting will draw speakers including former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, former eBay chief executive Meg Whitman, actor Sean Penn, right, and several airline and hotel executives.
The annual convention connects business-travel executives, destination-marketing representatives and service suppliers for business-travel management. Attendees of the event represent about 4,000 corporate travel managers and travel-service providers who fuel the $200 billion business-travel industry.
The city of Denver and Visit Denver are sponsoring a party to kick off the convention on Aug. 21 at the Denver Performing Arts Complex galleria and sculpture park. The party — created by Centerplace — is themed as “A Mile High Celebration of Denver & Colorado’s Culture, Cuisine and Adventure Lifestyle.” The Denver Post; Getty Images file photo
