PARIS — Authorities have agreed to extradite former Panamanian strongman Manuel Noriega to his native country, his lawyer said Tuesday.

Noriega was imprisoned in the United States for two decades after being deposed in a 1989 invasion. He was sent last year to France, where he was sentenced to seven years in prison on money laundering charges.

A Panamanian court has convicted Noriega — dictator from 1983 to 1989 — in the death of a military commander. He faces 20 years in jail.
