A Boulder man was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing after his neighbors said he threatened them with a gun late Sunday night.
Dale Richart, 78, allegedly threatened three roommates from his yard in the 900 block of 36th Street on two separate occasions Sunday night, according to police reports.
The roommates say that Richart called two of them over to a hedge that divided their two properties. They said that Richart was holding a handgun and told them he was tired of dealing with a bunch of “young and crazy kids.” Richart told them he had been drinking all day and that his wife was dying so he “didn’t have much to live for.”
The neighbors think that Richart was complaining about noise coming from their house after midnight as well as a broken window Richart believed was caused by a pellet gun one of the roommates was using to get birds out of their yard.
