An Arapahoe County jury found a man not guilty of careless driving, in an accident that killed a Denver woman in October 2010.
On Friday, after a 3-day trial and 3 hours of deliberation, the jury found Byron Bailey, 43, not guilty of careless driving resulting in the death of 62-year-old Sandra Fredin, according to a news release from the Arapahoe County District Attorney’s Office.
On Oct. 1, 2010, Fredin was walking through the parking lot of the Bradley gas station, located on the corner of East Arapahoe Road and South Peoria Street in Centennial.
At 6:10 a.m., Bailey’s Dodge Magnum hit Fredin when he pulled into an empty parking space.
Fredin was pinned underneath the vehicle.
Bystanders tried to free Fredin by using a tire crank to lift the vehicle off her, but were unsuccessful.
Fredin was taken to Littleton Adventist Hospital where she later died.
