A grand jury has indicted a Silverthorne man in the murder of his wife, whose body was found in a river near their home in November.

The indictment charges Dale Bruner with second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and three counts of tampering with physical evidence in the death of Stephanie Roller Bruner.

District Attorney Mark Hurlbert said Bruner was taken into custody without incident Wednesday afternoon soon after the grand jury issued the indictment. He is being held at Summit County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Bruner has been a prime suspect in the case since soon after Roller Bruner’s death was ruled a homicide, a few weeks after her body was discovered in the Blue River. New information included in the indictment suggests the murder was a brutal one.
