DENVER—Authorities cracking down on seatbelt violations have issued more than 1,800 tickets in seven days.
The Colorado State Patrol and law enforcement agencies in 11 counties held a nighttime crackdown beginning July 21.
The minimum fine for not wearing a seat belt in Colorado is $65 for adults and $82 for unrestrained children.
According to KMGH-TV ( ), ticketing started in 2002, and since then there has been a 56 percent decline in unrestrained deaths.
