Local voters could face two school tax increase questions on the November ballot, one local and one statewide.

State lawmakers, led by Boulder Democrat Rollie Heath, are pushing for a statewide tax increase for schools.

The Eagle County School District tax increase would be in addition to that statewide tax increase for schools, if Heath’s proposal makes the Colorado ballot — and it looks like it will.

In Eagle County, the school board is poised to ask local voters to increase their property taxes by $6.5 million per year.
