DENVER—Denver prosecutors say a man accused of assaulting his girlfriend and setting her home on fire has been charged with first-degree arson, criminal mischief and third-degree assault.
Twenty-four-year-old Chad Alonzo is due in court Thursday to be formally advised of the charges.
The charges allege Alonzo physically assaulted a 23-year-old woman in her home Friday and then set the home on fire, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage.
He was being held on $50,000 bond.
