Brides to be who want a different sort of selection and shopping experience for their wedding dress should check out the Brides Against Breast Cancer Nationwide Tour of Gowns Aug. 27-28 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield. Dresses donated by designers, retailers, manufacturers and individuals will be for sale at the event, with prices starting at $199. Also available will be tiaras, veils, crinolines and other accessories.

Proceeds from the sale of the dresses go to Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit organization that grants wishes for men and women battling Stage IV breast cancer. Making Memories is also accepting donations of gowns no more than six years old. Dresses need to be shipped to the group’s warehouse in Oregon. Instructions at .

The gown tour kicks off with a champagne brunch from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 27. Tickets are $15 per person at . The free Sunday sale is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Omni Interlocken Resort, 500 Interlocken Blvd., Broomfield.
