DENVER—New foreclosure filings in Colorado have fallen 28 percent for the first half of this year.

A report released Thursday by the Colorado Division of Housing says foreclosures are down to about 15,300, compared with 21,400 for the same period last year.

According to the Denver Post ( ), division spokesman Ryan McMaken says that while some of the decrease in foreclosure activity is due to banks processing foreclosures more slowly, he also believes fewer people getting behind in their payments.
