Xcel Energy announced that a program to manage summertime electricity demand has paid off in the form of a donation of nearly $30,000 to the American Red Cross Mile High Chapter and rebates totaling more than $47,000 for Colorado residents. Xcel donated $29,700 to the Red Cross last week as a result of its Saver’s Switch promotion, during which the company pledged to donate $25 to the Red Cross for each Xcel customer who signed on to the Saver’s Switch program by June 30.
