GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Volunteers have removed more than 60 cubic yards of trash from the Colorado River.
The trash fished from the river included 35 tires, plastic shopping bags, a mountain bike, steering rods and half a bumper.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ), Mesa County donated landfill fees for the group to dispose of trash and Grand Junction’s Parks and Recreation Department offered to haul off bags filled with trash.
