BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder prosecutors say a woman accused of blowing heroin on a cat’s face will no longer face animal cruelty charges because a necropsy found no traces of the drug in the animal.

The Boulder Daily Camera reported Tuesday that ( ) prosecutors intend to drop charges against 21-year-old Danielle Blankenship during a Wednesday hearing.

Police arrested Blankenship last month during a domestic violence call. Police say Blankenship’s ex-boyfriend told them his roommate’s cat was unresponsive because Blankenship was smoking heroin and had blown smoke on the cat’s face. The cat later died but the cause of death was inconclusive.

Blankenship denied the allegations and said she was not doing heroin.
