AGATE, Colo.—Firefighters contained a wildfire that burned alongside Interstate 70 about 20 miles northwest of Limon.

Elbert County Office of Emergency Management Director Cory Stark says firefighters battled the flames for two hours and were able to keep the blaze at about 90 acres. No structures were threatened in the fire first reported at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Interstate 70 is Colorado’s main east-west highway.
