AURORA, Colo.—Aurora police say a gunman opened fire on four youths at a park after hours, injuring one.

Police spokesman Bob Friel says the teenage boy wounded in the attack ran from the city’s Expo Park after the shooting just before 3 a.m. Tuesday and was able to get home.

Friel says the boy’s mother saw him cleaning his gunshot wound and took him to a hospital. Friel says the boy is expected to recover. Police are not saying where the boy was shot.

Three girls who were with the boy ran to a car and drove away.

Friel says the youths were not doing anything wrong at the park and that it’s unclear why they were targeted.

Police have not identified a suspect and are asking anyone with information to call Det. Chuck Mehl at 303-739-6213.
