A 1 1/2-year-old girl is in serious condition tonight after she was hit by a car driven by her mother.
Denver Det. John White said the girl was with other kids playing in the yard on the 200 block of South Xavier Street when the mother returned home from running errands around 6 p.m.
The child was hit as the mother pulled into the driveway.
White said the case is still under investigation but criminal charges are not expected.
