AURORA, Colo.—Aurora police say they found a man dead after he crashed his vehicle following a police chase.

Police say the chase began after an officer saw an SUV run a red light Tuesday morning.

When speeds reached 90 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone, police lost sight of the vehicle. They later found it crashed into a park and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver’s two children, ages 2 and 3, told police their father fell out of the SUV. Police say both children appeared to be unharmed when they were transported to a hospital as a precaution.

Investigators say the man earlier had been in argument with the children’s mother and left with the children.
