GOLDEN, Colo.—Authorities have identified a man found dead on a mountain west of Golden as 69-year-old Richard Limon of Denver, and they say he apparently had been stabbed.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday that Limon’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

Two bicyclists discovered Limon’s body on Aug. 17 beside the Lariat Loop road on Mount Zion near Lookout Mountain.

Investigators are asking anyone who knew Limon or was in the area of Lookout Mountain on Aug. 16 or 17 to contact them.
