NORFOLK, Va. — The former commander of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier fighting to stay in the Navy says he wishes he had never made raunchy videos broadcast aboard the USS Enterprise.
Capt. Owen P. Honors made his first public comments about the videos to a Navy board of inquiry Tuesday.
Honors was relieved of his command in January after media reports about the videos surfaced. The videos included simulated same-sex shower scenes, anti-gay slurs and references to prostitution in foreign ports. Honors said the videos were meant to boost morale.
