Travelers flying east from Denver should check with their airline before heading to the airport.
Denver International Airport reported 54 cancellations Saturday morning — 34 of which were departures — because of Hurricane Irene. As of Saturday night, 52 flights today had already been canceled, 28 of them departures.
DIA staff were not anticipating a large number of travelers spending the night at the airport and were not planning to make blankets or pillows available.
Saturday’s cancellations by airline were:
• United: 12 departures, seven arrivals
• Frontier: three departures, one arrival
• Southwest: 11 departures, seven arrivals
• Jet Blue: one departure, one arrival
• Delta: two departures, one arrival
• Continental: five departures, three arrivals
