MOLINE, Ill.—United’s ExpressJet Airlines says no one was hurt and an aircraft en route from Denver wasn’t significantly damaged when it left the runway while landing in Moline.
A spokesperson for Quad City International Airport tells WQAD-TV ( ) that the facility reopened Monday after being closed for about two hours. The regional airplane apparently skidded off the runway.
United ExpressJet Airlines spokeswoman Kate Modolo says all 50 passengers on Flight 5821 safely exited through the passenger boarding door and were taken to the terminal. Modolo says ExpressJet is working with the National Transportation Safety Board to investigate the cause of the incident.
Just one runway is open at the airport because of construction.
