Frisco city manager Michael Penny has been hired as Littleton’s new top manager.
Penny will replace city manager Jim Woods, who announced his retirement this spring after 12 years on the job.
According to the city, Penny begins work in Littleton on Oct. 3 at an annual salary of $150,000. The city council will formally vote on the hiring at its meeting Tuesday night.
Penny has been in Frisco for seven years. He was Ouray’s city manager for two years, and before that worked for the city of Boulder.
Penny earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at California State University, Long Beach and a master’s of public administration from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He also is a graduate of the Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government, Senior Executives in State and Local Government program.
He is a past president of the Colorado Municipal League Executive Board and of the Colorado City/County Management Association Board of Directors.
A reception to honor Woods is planned for 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Littleton Center, 2255 W. Berry Ave. Everyone is welcome.
