Connor Wood, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound redshirt freshman quarterback at Texas and a four-star recruit coming out of high school, visited the Colorado campus Monday and is considering transferring to CU, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

Wood signed with Texas in 2010 after being heavily recruited nationally.

On Texas’ most recent depth chart, Wood was listed behind three quarterbacks: junior starter Garrett Gilbert, sophomore backup Case McCoy and freshman David Ash.

CU can’t host an official visit for Wood, according to NCAA rules, unless he has been released from his scholarship. Texas will give Wood his release if he decides to transfer, the American-Statesman said.

Wood was a standout prep player at Second Baptist School in Houston.
