Getting your player ready...

FORT COLLINS — The immediate football futures of Colorado State starting linebacker James Skelton and reserve defensive lineman Zach Tiedgen are up in the air after their conduct at a massive off-campus pool party over the weekend.

Skelton was cited for third-degree assault and Tiedgen was cited for dis-orderly conduct. Skelton practiced Monday afternoon. Tiedgen did not.

CSU coach Steve Fairchild said no decision had been made on disciplinary action.

“I’m aware of the incident,” he said at his news conference. “I’ve looked into it, we’re looking into it, and we’ll comment further when we know more.”

Neither player was made available to the media after practice Monday.

“We’ll just gather some information and when it’s appropriate we’ll comment on it,” Fairchild said.

Skelton, No. 1 on the depth chart at middle linebacker, made 16 tackles in 11 games as a reserve last season. Shaquille Barrett is listed as his backup and would likely move into the starting spot if Skelton is suspended.

Tiedgen missed last season because of a knee injury he suffered while playing basketball. The Rams already have three players suspended indefinitely — fullback Kivon Cartwright, wide receiver Byron Steele and safety Ezra Thompson.
