The Boulder Affordable Housing Task Force presented several recommendations at an open house Tuesday night, following a year of examining the city’s housing needs.

The draft findings, which will be refined before heading to the City Council later this fall, include recommendations about funding affordable housing programs, revising the inclusionary housing requirements, reviewing mobile-home policies and working to address fees imposed by homeowner associations.

The group’s report says Boulder should reaffirm its commitment to having at least 10 percent of its housing stock be “affordable.” But the group made it clear that more funding would be needed to reach that goal.

Toward that end, the group recommends exploring the possibility of four different types of taxes: a head tax on workers in city limits; a hotel or accommodations tax; a general sales tax; or a property tax.
