North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley will close two units for transitional patient because of fewer patients and anticipated reductions in Medicare and Medicaid payments, hospital spokesman Gene Haffner said Friday.

Transitional Care Unit and the Center for Acute In-patient Rehabilitation, which can serve 25 patients, will close Nov. 1. Haffner said patients will be directed to other facilities in the area that provide transitional care, including Grace Pointe Assisted Living Facility in Greeley and Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital in Johnstown.
