Dana Hardie of Laurel Hill, N.C., has a million reasons to root for Kyle Busch on Sunday night. That’s because if Busch wins at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Hardie wins $1 million, thanks to the Sprint Summer Showdown. The program promised a $3 million payout if an eligible driver wins the Advocare 500, with the money divided between the driver, the charity of his choice and one of five fans. “I’m just trying to make ends meet,” said Hardie, an unemployed mother of three boys. “Nothing exciting ever happens for me. Now I’m getting this unbelievable experience and the chance to win $1 million.”
