Getting your player ready...
Slugger Ted Williams will win a spot on a U.S. postage stamp next year. The last baseball player to hit .400 for a season, the Boston Red Sox star will be honored on a forever stamp, part of a set featuring baseball players. Also included will be Larry Doby, Willie Stargell and Joe DiMaggio. Williams topped the .400 mark in 1941 and hit .344 over a 19-year career, including 521 home runs. He missed all or part of several seasons while serving in World War II and Korea, and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1966. The stamp, however, might not go over well in New York.
