A Colorado Springs woman was taken into custody this morning, after allegedly hitting a police officer in the face.

At 2:14 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of Tejon Street and Pikes Peak Avenue on a report of a disturbance, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department’s blotter.

While medical personnel were caring for an injured person at the intersection, 21-year-old Amanda Baity started to aggressively approach officials.

Officers told Baity to leave the intersection, but she refused.

When an officer attempted to intervene, Baity hit the officer in the face.

She was taken into custody immediately after the incident.
