A man was arrested at Copper Mountain ski resort on Sunday, after leading authorities on a foot chase through the resort and up a ski slope.

At 5 p.m., authorities learned that Christopher Lawhorn, was wanted on a felony warrant and two misdemeanor warrants, stemming from a domestic violence case in Idaho Springs, according to a news release from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies learned that Lawhorn, who also goes by Chris Farwell, was working in the basement of the resort’s employee housing building, The Edge.

Idaho Springs police, warned deputies that Lawhorn may be armed with shot gun and/or a handgun.

Lawhorn fled when deputies approached him and ignored orders to stop.

One deputy was able to grab Lawhorn, but he slipped out of the T-shirt he was wearing and out of the deputy’s grasp. Lawhorn then ran up a ski slope and behind the Cooper Lodge.

A deputy shot Lawhorn with three beanbag rounds, but he continued up the slope and out of sight.

The Frisco Police Department and Copper Mountain Security were called to help set up a perimeter, and bystanders were cleared from the area.

A police dog was brought into assist with the search. The dog was able to locate Lawhorn, who was then taken into custody.

Deputies found a knife on Lawhorn when he was arrested, and two shotguns were found in the unit he was staying.

Lawhorn was taken to the Summit County Jail. In addition to his outstanding warrants, Lawhorn was booked on resisting arrest.

His bond was set at $29,250.
