The Denver Metro Chamber released The Persistence of Vision, its first book in decades, at its 127th annual membership meeting Friday at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center.
Former Denver Post political writer Fred Brown wrote the book, which details how the business group helped shape Denver over its 144-year history.
At the meeting, former chamber president and chief executive Joe Blake was named the 2011 recipient of the chamber’s Del Hock Lifetime Achievement Award. The Outstanding Alumnus Award was presented to Denise Maes, who is the highest-ranking Latina official on Vice President Joe Biden’s staff.
U.S. Bank Denver president Hassan Salem also took over as chairman of the chamber’s board at the meeting.
