Senior John Melcher and junior Garrett Getschow each scored two goals, and the Air Force men’s soccer team scored three goals in the first seven-plus minutes in a 6-1 victory over visiting Buffalo on Sunday. The Falcons, off to their best start since 2001, improved to 5-1 while the Bulls fell to 4-3-1.
• Air Force women’s soccer lost a 2-0 match to visiting Fresno State. The loss dropped the Falcons to 4-5-0 on the season, while the Bulldogs improved to 4-3-2.
CU women outshoot opponent 18-4.
The University of Colorado women’s soccer team defeated Cal State Bakersfield 2-1 in the Denver Invitational.
CU, which outshot the Roadrunners 18-4, received goals from juniors Shaye Marshall and Amy Barczuk. Colorado is 3-4-1 while Bakersfield is 2-6-0.
Colorado will play its first game in the Pac-12 on Friday against Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore.

University of Denver women’s soccer player Nicholette DiGiacomo scored on a penalty kick, but the Pioneers fell 2-1 to the No. 22 Auburn Tigers (6-1-1) in the Denver Invitational. The Pioneers (6-2-0) finished the invitational 1-1-0.
