BOZEMAN, Mont.—A 21-year-old man who police say twice sped through a crowded downtown Bozeman at speeds up to 100 mph has been taken into custody on suspicion of drunken driving, criminal endangerment and eluding police.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports () that Joe N. King Myhren II was arrested Saturday morning after crashing his borrowed vehicle that had been disabled by spike strips.
Myhren’s current residence is listed as Bozeman, though he recently lived in Colorado.
Police say Myhren drove east on Main Street, then turned around and headed west though town. Police say he nearly rear-ended a fire truck at about 1:30 a.m. during one of the trips.
After being stopped, police say Myhren ignored their commands and could be seen talking on a cell phone and laughing.
