Denver canopy pilot Nick Batsch was on target at the recent world-record swooping contest in Longmont, missing a speed record by 2/1000ths of a second and shattering his 2010 distance mark by more than 40 meters with a 222.45-meter jump.

The two-time national champion remained sizzling last weekend, corralling three gold medals at the 2011 USPA National Skydiving Championships of Canopy Piloting south of Houston.

The Mile-Hi Skydiving Center veteran, who last month won gold at a World Cup contest in the Czech Republic, took gold in the open class and the speed and distance contests.
