A young man in Boulder is suspected of breaking into a medical marijuana dispensary while out walking his dog last month, police said today.
Boulder police released a surveillance photo showing the man who appears to be in his early 20s with his leashed beagle in tow as he forces his way into Root Organic MMC at 5420 Arapahoe Ave.
The first break-in happened on Aug. 28 at about 10:30 p.m.
“The suspect and his dog entered Root Organic but left quickly, probably because he had triggered the alarm,” police said in a press release.
Police think the same man tried again several hours later, but nothing was taken either time.
The burglar is white, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 150 to 180 pounds with curly or wavy brown hair.
He was wearing gray or blue basketball shorts made of shiny fabric with a vertical stripe. He also was wearing dark athletic shoes and a pink or reddish T-shirt with an image of brass knuckles on logo.
There is a $1,000 reward.
