Mystery, the dog tossed from a moving car into the middle of the highway on Ute Pass last month and rescued by some good Samaritans, is well enough to be placed in a new home, the Gazette reports.

An outpouring of community support resulted in many people wanting to adopt Mystery. Once she could walk again, Mystery visited several of them.

“It was very obvious to me that she had chosen the people she wanted to live with from almost the first moment we connected with one couple,” Mary Steinbeiser, manager of the Teller County Regional Animal Shelter in Divide, told the Gazette.

“Mystery ambled into their home, snuggled against one of them in a way I hadn’t seen her do before, and it was clear she had made her decision.”
