Budget shortfalls are affecting schools across the country, including some districts in Colorado, but one facility doesn’t want students to miss out on educational opportunities because of a lack of funds.

That is why the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is offering school field-trip groups free admission. This is the first time the museum has offered the program, which allows students and their chaperons to take a free self-guided tour of the museum.

The program started this month and will run through May.

The museum is also offering free admission to organized youth groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Boys and Girls Clubs.

Additionally, the museum is offering discounts on onsite classes and workshops and might be able to help with transportation costs through a fuel-reimbursement program.
