General manager Dan O’Dowd believes the key to Jhoulys Chacin’s improvement is “a more consistent delivery.” Pitching coach Bob Apodaca says it is a matter of focusing on the glove instead of the outcome. With improved mechanics and command, Chacin finished his season with an encouraging performance. The Rockies lost 3-1, but the right-hander allowed just two runs on eight hits in seven innings and walked one. Colorado is counting on Chacin to eclipse 200 innings next season.
