GREELEY, Colo.—A Colorado Department of Transportation supervisor responsible for overseeing gas cards in Greeley has resigned after he was accused of misusing a state gas card.
Authorities say Kelly Liams is facing felony theft and embezzlement of public property charges after the department said Liams racked up around $7,000 worth of gas on a card over a two-year period.
According to KUSA-TV ( ), it was the second case this year. The department says Keith Kendrick of Larkspur is facing misdemeanor charges after he was found with a missing state gas card after the state paid more than $30,000 in bills. The state says it had no clue it was missing for more than two years. The card was originally assigned to a state worker at a rest-stop near Castle Rock.
