Muriel Keer has been charged with child abuse resulting in death, a felony, in the drowning death of her 10-month- old son last week, the Denver district attorney’s office announced Tuesday.
Keer told a detective that her son, Aldrich Leathers, “had a diaper rash and that there was no abuse,” according to a court document.
Keer, 39, has been in the Denver County Jail since her arrest Sept. 20, the day the boy was found floating with his toys in the full bathtub of Keer’s northeast Denver home.
Keer was on her computer in the kitchen at the time, and the water was running into the tub’s overflow drain, according to investigators.
Keer is being held on $100,000 bail.
