LOS ANGELES — Shares of BlackBerry maker Research in Motion surged Tuesday amid speculation that billionaire investor Carl Icahn has taken a stake in the company.
Shares rose 97 cents, or 4.5 percent, to close at $22.65 on Tuesday, after being up as much as 8 percent.
Icahn did not respond to a request for comment.
