Candidates for Greeley mayor and city council focused on economic growth at an election forum Wednesday.
While mayoral candidate Nickolas True set his sights on the big picture — improving Greeley’s image, its outreach to students and alternative transportation — Mayor Tom Norton said job creation with industries such as Leprino Foods, a focused redevelopment plan in growing areas, and a more specific plan to tackle the city’s giant road maintenance project would set Greeley on a healthy fiscal path.
The three at-large candidates for city council and two candidates for mayor had one minute to answer questions on how to stimulate growth, redevelop the city, address problems with transportation and create a strong workforce, among other issues.
