It’s decision time for Champ Bailey.
The Broncos’ star cornerback is going through one more practice today that will help determine if his injured hamstring has healed enough for him to play Sunday at Green Bay.
Bailey has missed the last two games, but was able to practice in limited fashion on Wednesday and Thursday.
“I’m very close,” Bailey said after Thursday’s practice. “I’m trying to do what I can in practice and make sure I don’t set myself back. That’s the main thing about hamstrings, you can make it worse and I don’t want to do that.”
The Broncos will practice today until about noon, and the team will release its final injury report by early afternoon.
The only three players who will be ruled out are receivers Eddie Royal and Demaryius Thomas, and tight end Julius Thomas.
Defensive end Elvis Dumervil and Marcus Thomas also are participating today in their third consecutive practice. Bailey, Dumervil and Thomas will travel to Green Bay with the team on Saturday and are expected to be listed as questionable. Dumervil, who missed two games with a shoulder injury and was limited to just passing downs in the season opener, is expected to play.
Thomas has spent time this week working with the scout team and second-team defense as tries to get back in football shape after missing more than a month with first a pectoral injury and then a strained groin.
