A teenager was injured this morning when she was hit by a motorcycle driven by a Denver police officer.

The accident happened about 9:40 a.m. near the intersection of South Ingalls Way and West Bates Avenue, said John White, a police spokesman.

The motorcycle officer was assisting at a John F. Kennedy High School event when the girl, a 17-year-old student, was hit.

White described the injuries as “not serious.”

The student was taken to Swedish Medical Center as a precautionary measure, White said.
