A 58 year-old Golden man died Saturday near a trail head in Rocky Mountain National Park of apparent heart failure.
The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was about one mile from the Lawn Lake Trail head, when visitors notified park dispatch that he was ill, according to Park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson.
People at the scene administered Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation. “Park rangers reached the man at 2:25 p.m.,” a Patterson said in a statement said. “Rangers began additional medical care but the man remained unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:44 p.m.”
