Detroit Jesuit High School’s Chris Jenkins, a versatile 6-foot-7 player, told BuffStampede.com that he will sign a men’s basketball letter of intent with the Colorado Buffaloes next month.

Jenkins said “the campus is really wonderful” and credited host Askia Booker, a CU freshman guard, for helping form an instant bond with the team.

Jenkins’ other offers included Central Michigan, Detroit, Duquesne, Florida International, Eastern Michigan and Morehead (Ky.) State.

Stewart leads, Buffs tie for second.

The University of Colorado women’s golf team was tied for second and one shot behind leader Oregon State after Monday’s first round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash.

Sophomore Alex Stewart leads the field after shooting a 2-under-par 70.

Play continues today and will conclude Wednesday in the second-to-last fall event for the Buffaloes.

Wyoming’s Rico sets pace.

University of Wyoming women’s golfer Juanita Rico tied her career low with a 3-under 69 to sit atop the individual leaderboard with UC Irvine’s Sarah Baek after the first day of the Nevada Wolf Pack Classic. As a team, the Cowgirls posted a season-low 300 (12 over), trailing only UC Irvine at 298 in the 10-team field.
