Though now in his 70s, — the king of the surf guitar — still wowed the crowd with his pick-melting riffs of such classics as “Pipeline” and “Mr. Peppermint Man” on Sunday. Accompanying Dale on the drums was his son Jimmy Dale, who at only 19 easily lived up to his father’s high standards. Opening the evening was psychedelic pop band Fingers of the Sun. These Denver locals are known around town for their upbeat melodies and three-part harmonies.
