DENVER—History Colorado President and CEO Ed Nichols says History Colorado’s new museum has been completed on time and on budget.

Gov. John Hickenlooper and his predecessor Bill Ritter unveiled an inscribed, limestone dedication stone outside the museum Friday. The building won’t open to the public until next spring.

The 200,000-square-foot center cost $111 million and is about a block from the old site.

The old building was demolished to make room for a larger building to house the state Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals and administrative offices for the court system.

History Colorado was formerly known as the Colorado Historical Society.
